The Pelikan Souverän 605 Stresemann fountain pen features the same elegant anthracite grey stripes on its barrel as the suit that gave it its name, in a medium size designed for daily use.

The name commemorates Gustav Stresemann, a German statesman and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, who habitually wore a pinstriped suit in black and anthracite grey. Since then, both suits and striped pens have borne his name.

Features of the Pelikan Souverän 605 Stresemann

The barrel, with its seemingly simple anthracite-colored stripes, is made of cellulose acetate, produced through a traditional process that requires intensive labor. For the finely turned black parts, a high-quality resin was used. The clip and rings are palladium-plated. Each individual writing instrument is hand-assembled and tested to meet the strictest control criteria.

Medium size, 18Kt gold nib available in Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, and Broad tips, piston filling system: a system that fills the reservoir directly from the inkwell, without the need for cartridges. Like every Stresemann fountain pen in the Souverän series, it requires minimal maintenance: rinse the nib with lukewarm water when changing ink color, and regular use to maintain a consistent flow over time.

The name Stresemann

Gustav Stresemann (1879-1929), Foreign Minister of the Weimar Republic, Nobel Peace Prize winner in 1926.
He habitually wore a new type of suit (pinstripe), with thin black and anthracite gray stripes, and this type of suit soon became known as his. Even the widely used striped Pelikan fountain pens were called Stresemann; and to this day, both suits and pens bear his name.

Each individual writing instrument is hand-assembled and tested to meet the most stringent quality control criteria.
