Marlen #5 Nibs

Available Materials

The collection is available in two variants: rhodium-plated steel nibs and 14kt two-tone gold nibs. Rhodium-plated steel guarantees corrosion resistance and durability over time; 14kt gold offers superior flexibility and greater writing softness, appreciated by those seeking more expressive writing.

Compatibility of Marlen #5 Nibs

They are specifically designed for Marlen models that use the standard #5 size. The product includes only the nib itself, without the feed or housing, allowing for targeted replacements and maintenance interventions.

What is Nib Size?

The numbering of sizes (#5, #6...) is a common standard among European fountain pen manufacturers, and indicates the physical footprint of the nib, not the line width: the latter depends on the tip (EF, F, M, B...). To learn more about how different nib sizes and materials work, this guide on fountain pen nibs offers a comprehensive overview.

When to Replace the Nib

A replacement becomes necessary in case of natural wear, accidental damage, or to change writing characteristics. A worn nib has misaligned tines or produces an irregular ink flow: replacement with original components restores the pen's optimal performance.
